Rachel teaches from her own studio in Highgate North London (N6) as well as Paris and is currently teaching at BIIM music school as tutor in singing technique. She trains singers as well as voice teachers all over the world from Europe to China to Brazil and is regularly invited to teach masterclasses abroad including regular teaching in Israel, all over Italy with io canto - Stage di canto e perfezionamento vocale. She has also taught at the European Vocal Camp in Poland and in Latin America. From her busy studio in North London she coaches in all styles from Latin, Jazz, Rock & Pop, to Musical Theatre and Classical. Her clients include recording artists with recognised labels, West End performers, professional musicians and songwriters of all genres.
With her relaxed but professional approach, Rachel is able to put her students immediately at ease and quickly identify their specific vocal needs. Her 20 years of experience as a singer and guitarist and background in classical, jazz, pop, R’n’B and Latin provides her with enormous versatility as a teacher. As well as English, Rachel speaks Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese fluently, enabling her to work with linguistic issues and iron out accents in those languages. She is also well versed in both popular and traditional musical genres from Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and Latin America, working with many singers from these countries in styles as far-ranging as Fado, Flamenco, Italian song, Bossa Nova, Samba, Argentinian Zamba and Tango to Mexican Bolero, Cuban Son and Salsa.
Rachel runs regular workshops training singers and teachers working on all aspects of singing and vocal health, musicianship, creativity and performance. World renowned teachers are invited from all over to teach Jazz, Skat, Circle Songs, Songwriting, Performance and Acting techniques, harmony, riffs and runs and general musicianship. Dedicated to developing singers and singing teachers from the early stages through to fully fledged careers, Rachel has coached singers from the beginning stages of singing and songwriting through to competitioins, performance and recording. She also helps singing teachers by supporting them in their development and specifically through the IVA certification program.
